The Mobile Ballet is stepping into its new season with a classic that’s equal parts drama and romance: Phantom of the Opera.
The opening production hits the stage next month inside the Saenger Theatre, a space chosen to complement the grandeur of the performance.
Artistic Director Katia Garza called the project a dream come true, noting that the production is tailored to showcase the beauty of the historic venue.
The blend of a legendary story with the charm of the Saenger sets the tone for a season filled with imagination and elegance.

A Masquerade Before the Music
Before the first note sounds, the experience can begin at Phantom Masquerade: Cheers Before the Curtain.
For an additional $50, guests gain early access to the atmosphere, with premium cocktails, gourmet bites, and conversations with the artists themselves.
Hosted at the Mobile Arts Council’s Room 1927 Gallery, just steps from the theater, this pre-show event extends the evening into a full celebration.
It’s part social gathering, part cultural immersion—a reminder that the arts aren’t limited to the stage alone.
Holiday Magic with The Nutcracker
The season sparkles in December when The Nutcracker returns, bringing Clara, her prince, and the Land of Sweets to life.
Audiences can choose from multiple performances, but the holiday magic isn’t confined to the stage.
Bay Minette will get an early glimpse during the 43rd Annual Christmas Fest, while a Nutcracker Holiday Brunch at the Battle House Hotel’s Crystal Ballroom offers the chance to meet characters and relive the story in a festive setting.
Together, the performances and add-on events create traditions that families can build on year after year.
A Fairytale for Spring
March belongs to Cinderella. The timeless fairytale unfolds at the Civic Center, inviting audiences to rediscover transformation, resilience, and a bit of magic.
A Cinderella Tea will accompany the show, with details on time and location still to come.
These events blend performance with community gatherings, reinforcing how stories carry off the stage and into everyday life.
It’s more than a performance—it’s an invitation to take part in a season-long celebration of imagination.
The Bigger Picture of the Season
Across all three productions, Garza notes that the unifying theme is love in its many forms—the fiery passion of Phantom, the wonder of childhood in The Nutcracker, and the hope found in Cinderella.
The season isn’t only about ballet, though. It’s about filling historic venues, drawing people together, and offering the community a reason to dress up, step out, and celebrate creativity.
Each show brings audiences into contact with tradition and transformation, ensuring the arts remain a vibrant part of the Gulf Coast’s cultural rhythm.
