This pig has something to say — and a million people are listening.
Merlin, a 4-year-old mini Vietnamese potbellied pig in Sacramento, just earned a Guinness World Record for the largest Instagram following for a pig, with more than 1.1 million fans.
His claim to fame? Talking… sort of.
Merlin communicates by pressing buttons that play recorded words, letting him “ask” for things and share how he feels. The result: surprisingly clear requests, a lot of personality, and a very engaged audience.
His owner, Mina Alali, adopted him in 2022 and started training him at just three months old. The videos took off, and Merlin never looked back.
After the record was confirmed, Alali celebrated with a post featuring Merlin and his official plaque.
Proof that if you give a pig a voice, he might just build an audience.
