Saturday was a tough loss for the Jaguars, who were hoping to be one step closer to bowl eligibility.
But these aren’t just games.
They’re community events!
Along with an incredible football game, we celebrated veterans and granted a wish to a young fan!
The Jags fought back after trailing 14-13 at the half to being up 30-14 entering the 4th. In the end, it was the three turnovers that cost the Jags the victory and spoiled the comeback.
Georgia Southern had 20 unanswered points in the 4th to spoil a home win for the Jags.
Gio Lopez was 22/30 for 257 yards and 1 interception along with 7 carries for 43 yards on the ground.
Lopez exited the game late in the 4th due to a hit sustained from the defense.
Kentrell Bullock continued to be dominant on the ground with 17 carries for 101 yards. Fluff Bothwell carried the ball just 6 times but had 2 TD’s out of those 6 carries. Jamaal Pritchett led the receivers with 12 receptions for 107 yards and a TD which was recovered off a fumble from Devin Voisin that rolled into the endzone. Kicker Laith Marjan has continued to be great hitting 3/3 FG’s and 3/3 on extra points scoring 12 of the Jags 30 points.
On Defense Blayne Myrick, Darius McKenzie and Jordan Scruggs accounted for 28 tackles of which 5 were solo by Myrick and 4 solo by Scruggs. Courtney McBride had 3 tackles for loss as well. The next game for the Jags is 11/16 on the road against Louisiana then another road game against Southern Miss on 11/23. The final home game is on Friday 11/29 at 2:30 against Texas State on ESPN+.
