If you guys see some work being done on our manholes, don’t be alarmed. It’s part of an extensive stormwater mapping project being funded through the federal RESTORE Act.
This is going to help us understand and assess better the stormwater infrastructure of our city.
Because Mobile is more than 300 years old, there are some features of our stormwater system that aren’t accurately mapped out or updated.
Did you know that motorists generate 53 percent of all the litter that is found along U.S. roadways every year?
Partners for Environmental Progress (PEP) and the city are working together to reduce the amount of litter caused by trash blowing out of pick-up trucks.
The goal is to educate local businesses and truck owners about the environmental and economic impacts that unsecured truck trash can have when it blows onto our roads and into our waterways.
