Ghosts and ghouls? Nope! Tornadoes.
After powerful storms swept through the state’s coastal regions, two small tornadoes with winds of 72 mph or less were reported, one in Theodore and one south of downtown Mobile.
Numerous funnel clouds were seen in photos and videos, and surveyors were still searching for signs of tornadoes on Sunday.
A funnel cloud was seen by several persons passing over the road that spans Mobile Bay between Mobile and Spanish Fort. Thankfully, no one got hurt.
Residents in Theodore, southwest of the city, and in sections of western Mobile experienced wind damage.
At least one house had its roof blown off by the Theodore tornado, which also blew out windows. Other locals lost their fences, trampolines, and above-ground pools.
Many households were without electricity late Saturday near Magnolia Springs and Bon Secour in the east across Mobile Bay. Utility companies claimed that by Sunday, almost all of the disruptions had been fixed.
It looks like we got through this relatively unharmed. Whew!
Trunk-Or-Treat!
We hope you make it later to the Bishop State Community College spooktacular event. The event will run from 5:30 to 6:30 PM on October 31st.
The main campus parking lot will be filled with excitement as students and kids from all over the community come by, dressed up in their favorite costumes. The kids will love the fun and games planned for them.
Vehicle trunks will be decorated with all sorts of themes (hence Trunk-Or-Treat), sponsored by Bishop State programs and departments.
Kids can ask for candy from one station to the next, taking in the music, fun, games, treats, and a train ride.
A Witchy Time
Mobilian witches grabbed their bikes and broomsticks for the 6th annual Mobile Witches Ride.
This occasion serves as a fundraiser for Delta Dogs. This group helps Mobile County residents in need by offering veterinarian care and spay/neuter services to their pets.
Over 500 participants in their witchiest best showed up at the block party venue hosted by The Blind Mule Restaurant.
It was an easy 3-mile trip downtown, passing by Braided River on St. Louis Street, the event’s primary beer sponsor.

Sip’ N Paint
Picture this: being beneath the stars, painting, relaxing, enjoying music, and sipping on drinks. Is there anything better for artists who want to get their drink on? I think not.
