Ever strolled or cycled around town and thought, “Hmm, this spot could use a little love…”?
Well, now’s your chance to voice those suggestions.
The South Alabama Regional Planning Commission (SARPC) is on a mission to make our streets friendlier for walkers and bikers.
And yes, they want to hear from us.
Fill up the survey here and make sure you weigh in by Jan. 12, 2024.
There’s also a ZOOM workshop on the cards for Nov. 2, from 11 am – 1 pm CST (Meeting ID: 857 1164 7121, Passcode: 740765).
SARPC will share their initial ideas and are keen to gather feedback.
Have something else planned for that day?
A recording will be available on their site.
Tom Piper from SARPC emphasizes the importance of community input.
After collecting this, a draft plan will be shared for further comments.
This is all to develop a comprehensive plan that’ll “pave the way” for improved sidewalks, bike lanes, and other amenities.
Honestly, who doesn’t love a good, safe walk or bike ride in their city?
We’re eager to see what everyone comes up with, and we appreciate this proactive step to better the lives of our pedestrians.
