The University of South Alabama Jaguars football team secured a historic milestone with their first-ever bowl game victory, marking a significant achievement in the program’s history.
The Jags had the opportunity to play in what turned out to be a home game for them.
Their efforts proved worthwhile as they convincingly defeated Eastern Michigan with a commanding final score of 59-10.

The Jaguars scored 59 points, which is the most in the program’s Division 1 history.
Leading the offense was true freshman qb Gio Lopez who also was awarded game MVP.
He threw for 192 yards and 3 TD’s. He also ran for 88 yards and a rushing TD.
The offensive MVP was awarded to Jamaal Pritchett, who had 8 catches for 127 receiving yards and 2 TD’s.
Jamie Sheriff was named Defensive MVP who had 4 tackles, of which two were for a loss.
The Special Teams MVP was Diego Guajardo, who played for Daphne High School.
He scored the game’s first points with a 46-yard FG and was 8 of 8 on PATs.
The team had 627 yards of total offense, of which 417 of those yards came in the first half alone.
