Since June 12, Mobile Community Action has opened appointments for their Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Cooling Program, aimed at keeping things chill for qualifying families in Mobile and Washington Counties.

The Port of Mobile is set for a major upgrade with the Mobile Modernization Project, aiming to deepen and widen the port to accommodate larger ships, boosting both local and national economies. 

The Alabama Contemporary Arts Center is transforming Mobile’s historic Press-Register building into a dynamic community space for art. 

This renovation preserves the building’s architectural charm while expanding access to contemporary art across Alabama.

The Mobile River Bridge and Bayway Project, a major initiative to improve Alabama’s transportation by building a new six-lane bridge and widening key highways, has moved closer to reality with the application for a federal TIFIA loan.

John Shell, a local Eagle Scout, earned national recognition for his project of placing 100 artificial reefs along the Gulf Coast, enhancing marine life and supporting the ecosystem.

Mobile’s new ‘Adopt-A-Park’ program, launched by the City of Mobile Parks and Recreation, invites locals to care for community parks, enhancing their beauty and sustainability. 

Enthusiasts can sign up to maintain their chosen parks, fostering a greener, cleaner environment citywide.

As pickleball’s popularity soars in the US, Mobile is expanding its facilities with new courts to accommodate the growing interest among its residents.

The Mobile Brick Convention returns this September, now at the larger Mobile Convention Center, promising more space, attractions, and interactive fun for LEGO enthusiasts.
