Here’s the latest scoop from the Mobile City Council.
Last August 23, these decision-makers were making moves bound to shape the city’s future.
First up on their agenda was a three-year contract worth $1.2 million with Waste Pro of Alabama, Inc.
They’re locking down top-notch trash services for the new city areas.
And by allocating $493,000 from the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) funds, they’re gearing up for more action.
The goal?
To give a makeover to traffic signals along two roads and revamp two outdated playgrounds at two parks.
The council proposed a resolution that aims to amp up the charm of Frederick D. Richardson, Jr. Tricentennial Park.
We’re talking restroom renovations, enhanced site lighting, brand-new sidewalks, and a snazzy upgrade for the dog park.
This park’s future is looking brighter than ever.
They also sealed a $375,000 deal with the Alabama Department of Transportation.
This contract will ensure the upkeep of traffic signals along US Hwy 45 while also giving a refresher to the road surface from Prichard Ave. to South Wilson Ave.
Here’s an interesting development —
The council decided to give the contact chat with Volkert Associates an extra week to marinate.
This particular contact is all about overseeing the Mobile Civic Center redevelopment project.
Since the project funds were set aside in May, the council is making sure that every move is just right.
