Carnival Cruise Line is setting sail on a new chapter for Mobile. Beginning May 15, 2027, the Carnival Valor will call the Port City home year-round—marking the first time a Conquest-class ship operates out of Mobile.

This move boosts the city’s presence on the cruise map and brings a larger, more feature-packed ship to the Alabama Gulf Coast.

For those dreaming of turquoise waters and tropical breezes, the options just got a whole lot better.

More Ports, More Adventure

Carnival Valor’s upcoming itineraries stretch from six- to eight-day cruises, whisking travelers away to The Bahamas, Half Moon Cay, and Carnival’s brand-new Celebration Key in Grand Bahama.

Each route promises a mix of classic island favorites and new destinations for Gulf Coast cruisers looking to explore beyond their usual getaways.

Before arriving in Mobile, the ship will wrap up its New Orleans season with a quick round of Mexican voyages in early May.

By mid-month, it’ll be sailing out of Alabama full-time, ready for adventure after adventure.

A Ship Built for Fun

Carnival Valor isn’t just another ship—it’s a floating playground with something for everyone.

Guests can expect expanded dining options, multiple entertainment venues, a full spa, a water park, and pools built for lazy afternoons under the sun.

The ship’s arrival adds major capacity for Mobile’s port, giving travelers more room, more activities, and more reasons to hop aboard without the hassle of flying somewhere first.

The Conquest-class design is known for vibrant interiors, themed restaurants, and live entertainment that keeps the fun rolling long after sunset.

A President’s Promise and a Community’s Win

Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy shared her excitement about the expansion, calling Mobile an “important part of the Carnival family.”

Her announcement carried a tone of gratitude—for guests who’ve cruised from Mobile for years and for the community that’s kept those sails filled.

“This is a big win for our guests who love the convenience of cruising close to home,” Duffy said.

“Carnival Valor will bring even more opportunity for fun, and we can’t wait to welcome our guests aboard.”

It’s clear this move means more than logistics—it’s a renewed investment in the Gulf Coast’s role in cruising’s future.

Epic Journeys on the Horizon

For those looking to go big, Carnival Valor has a few headline-worthy voyages planned.

Two 14-day Carnival Journeys are already set: one departing September 26, 2027, with stops in Jamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Aruba, and Curaçao, and another launching January 16, bound for San Juan, St. Thomas, Amber Cove, and Celebration Key.

There’s even a special Thanksgiving cruise scheduled for November 20, 2027, perfect for families wanting to swap the turkey for sunshine and sea views.

Before Valor’s arrival, the Carnival Spirit will continue seasonal service from Mobile through April 2027, keeping the cruise energy alive until the bigger ship drops anchor for good.

Between the upgrades, itineraries, and long-term commitment, this expansion feels like more than a business move—it’s a moment that brings a little extra sparkle to Mobile’s skyline and a new wave of excitement to its waterfront.
