Air of Excellence, a local HVAC company, is helping students jumpstart their careers with real-world training programs.

By teaming up with schools, they’re giving young people a chance to learn valuable trade skills while still in high school, setting them up for rewarding jobs right after graduation.

Learning on the Job with Skilled Mentors

Through partnerships with the Bryant Technical Center and Faith Academy, Air of Excellence offers students part-time opportunities to work alongside experienced technicians.

Whether it’s during the school year or summer, students get hands-on experience, tackling tasks like troubleshooting HVAC systems and interacting with customers.

Take Avery Duke, for example.

He started at Air of Excellence while in school, doing simple shop tasks before shadowing technicians in the field.

That hands-on learning helped him land a full-time job as a service technician.

From Apprentices to Skilled Pros

Jimmy Deitz, the owner of Air of Excellence, believes programs like these are a game-changer for students and the community.

“It’s all about showing young people the ropes and giving them the skills they need to succeed,” Deitz shared.

Avery credits his progress to soaking up knowledge from seasoned pros, staying humble, and always being eager to learn.

It’s that mindset that took him from a beginner to a key player on the team.

A Big Opportunity for Local Teens

For students who want an alternative to the traditional college path, Air of Excellence offers a clear and practical option.

These programs teach real skills that lead directly to good-paying jobs, meeting the growing demand for skilled workers in Mobile.

The Future Looks Bright for Trade Careers

As skilled trades become more popular, opportunities like these are paving the way for students to step confidently into the workforce.

Thanks to businesses like Air of Excellence, Mobile teens are discovering that with the right guidance, effort, and hands-on training, a solid and fulfilling career in the trades is well within reach.
