1- Mobile Carnival Museum
Location: 355 Government St.
Many people don’t know, but Mobile is the birthplace of Mardi Gras. This museum, located in the historic Bernstein-Bush mansion downtown, houses over 300 years of Mardi Gras history in Mobile.
This history is told through collections, displays, and presentations about the heritage and background of the festival, costume design, and the construction of floats.

The Alabama Contemporary Art Center is located downtown and houses exhibits of different contemporary works of art.
These works of art focus on common themes of the Gulf Coast. They also provide educational outreach programs.
3- Mobile Museum of Art
Location: 4850 Museum Dr.
The Mobile Museum of Art, located in Lagan Park, is home to national and international paintings and statues. The works displayed in the museum span over 2,000 years.
There is a permanent collection of over 10,000 works and different rotating exhibits. This art museum is the largest one in the region.
4- Mobile Medical Museum
Location: 1664 Springhill Ave.
This museum is sure to pique your interest in science enthusiasts and medical professionals alike. This museum, established in 1962, is home to old-school anatomical models, equipment, and surgical tools from the 1820s.

5- Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center
Location: 65 Government St.
Located in downtown Mobile, the Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center has over 150 hands-on adventures that promote science learning through exploration and discovery.
These exhibits are entertaining and educating for kids of all ages.
6- GulfQuest National Maritime Museum
Location: 155 S. Water St.
The GulfQuest National Maritime Museum is an educational museum that features interactive exhibits that focus on maritime heritage.
The museum that opened in 2015 is home to almost 100 displays, exhibitions, and theaters.
7- Bellingrath Gardens and Home
Location: 12401 Bellingrath Rd.
Bellingrath Gardens and Home is a 65-acre property that features a 10,500 square foot home built in 1935. The home features 15 rooms and is constructed from salvaged bricks.
The house belonged to Walter and Bessie Bellingrath. Walter made his fortune by opening a Coca-Cola bottling plant here in Alabama in 1903.
This is Alabama’s oldest public garden and always has something in bloom. In January, you can visit and see the 400 different varieties of camellias, Alabama’s state flower.
In March, you can see a variety of azaleas, and in November, you can view the cascading chrysanthemums.

8- Mobile Botanical Gardens
Location: 5151 Museum Dr.
The Mobile Botanical Gardens were established in 1974 and featured diverse flora. With more than 100 acres, plenty of flowers, trees, shrubs, and succulents to see.
There is also a diverse collection of camellias and azaleas throughout the garden. Visitors can explore the Rhododendron Garden, Camellia Wintergarden, Japanese Maple Garden.
There are also guided garden walks where expert botanists and naturalists share their knowledge and passion.
9- USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park
Location: 2703 Battleship Parkway
The Battleship Memorial Park is located on Mobile Bay and honors veterans of all branches. The BB-60 Battleship is nicknamed “the Mighty A” and was built in 1940, launched in 1942, and decommissioned in 1947.
The “Mighty A” served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. This historic ship is now a World War II museum.
10- Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception
Location: 2 S. Claiborne Street
Located in downtown Mobile on Claiborne Street, this church is home to the oldest religious congregation in Alabama. The early-1700s parish was the first parish on the Gulf Coast.
This Roman Catholic cathedral is known for its stained glass windows made in Munich, Germany. The cathedral also features a large pipe organ.

11- History Museum of Mobile
Location: 111 South Royal Street
There is no better place to start for those interested in discovering more about Mobile and its history. The museum is found in the building that was once the Old City Hall of Mobile and celebrated the history and heritage of the city.
There is a range of exhibits that explore 300 years of Mobile history.
12- Conde-Charlotte Museum
Location: 104 Theatre St
Initially built in the 1920s, this building was the first courthouse and jail in Mobile. After serving as the courthouse, it became the family home of the Kirkbride family.
Today, this building serves as a museum restored and furnished with furniture from various eras. This museum gives guests a glimpse into several distinct periods of history throughout Mobile.
13- Bragg-Mitchell Mansion
Location: 1906 Springhill Avenue
This mansion was built in 1855 and is a beautifully preserved antebellum home.
This once stately home that belonged to Judge John Bragg is now a museum that offers guided historical tours.
The home is a Greek revival-style home, and they do not allow pictures inside the house.
