He unveiled it to the Mobile City Council last August 18.
With the recent annexation and a projected influx of 19,000 fresh faces to the city, the budget comes packed with potential revenue streams.
The mayor wasted no time diving into the nitty-gritty of the proposed budget.
He’s shuffling around the money to pump up the Capital Improvement Program, funneling more funds into sprucing up the city’s infrastructure.
And, of course, the goal is to meet the community’s needs across all seven districts.
So, what’s in it for the hardworking folks that keep the city ticking?
A sweet 5% bump for City employers, all part of the plan to hold on to these valuable team members.
We hope this is enough to keep up with the competitive job market!
Mayor Stimpson also assures us that Mobile’s fiscal health is looking rosy.
Debt reduction is on the agenda, but they’re not sacrificing the quality of services that we citizens have come to rely on.
Plus, they’re keeping a safety net of two months’ worth of operating costs — just in case!
The mayor wrapped up his presentation with a hearty shout-out to the behind-the-scenes players.
We’re talking about the finance crew, who’ve put in the elbow grease to assemble this budget blueprint.
