Mobile is rocking. The City intends to invest a $250,000 contribution to show support to a new advance manufacturing and health science facility at the Bishop State Community College. Making sure that our citizens are skilled and ready goes hand in hand with our growing diverse economy. Construction on the Advanced Manufacturing Center and the Health Sciences Facility is scheduled to be completed in the Fall of 2021. More about this here.
Great job, Mobile.
And hey, have you heard the buzz going on about Mardi Gras in May? If COVID cases fall, Mobile may roll out a Carnival-like parade. We could live with this. What do you guys think?
Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson told the City Council on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, that preliminary discussions are already happening with the mystic societies that organize and host Mardi Gras parades each year about participating in a Friday night parade coinciding with the official commissioning of the USS Mobile, a littoral combat ship (LCS) built at Austal USA’s Mobile plant. Oh yeah! See the story here!
