Avoiding Parking Violations
Avoid parking in the no-parking areas. Look for the special purple and gold “no parking” signs along parade routes to ensure your vehicle is safe.
Handling a Towed Vehicle During Mardi Gras
Parking violations may lead to your vehicle being towed away. A temporary Impound Lot has been set up for towed vehicles under I-10 off Monroe Street between northbound and southbound Water Street during Mardi Gras parades.
Vehicles not retrieved by 11:00 p.m. will be moved to the permanent impound facility behind the Mobile Police Department Training Academy.
The cost to retrieve a vehicle from either of the impound lots is $150
Ensuring the Safety of Children
Parents are urged to take precautions to ensure the safety of their children during the Mardi Gras celebration.
Ensure an identification card with the child’s name, address, telephone contact numbers, and the name of a relative in their pocket.
If a child becomes separated from their parent or guardian during the celebration, they should be instructed to go to the nearest police officer.
The police will then try to contact the child’s parents and take them to Central Precinct at 55 N. Water Street until they can be reunited.
Street Cleaning after Parades
Please clear the area and do not cross the barricades after the last fire truck of each parade rolls through.
