South Alabama had two home games during the Valentine’s week. First off was the Marshall Thundering Heard coming to town. Elijah Ormiston led the Jags with a career night scoring 26 points and shooting 73% from the floor. The Jags started off hot but allowed Marshall to tie the game late sending it to OT.

In OT, the Jags outscored Marshall 14-5 leading to a 91-82 nail-biting win.

Next up Texas State came to the Mitch in what would not only be a crucial game in the battle for first place in the SBC but also another OT thriller at the Mitch.

This game would be dominated by Barry Dunning Jr. leading the way for the Jags with 34 points and 11 rebounds.

The jags got off to another hot start but allowed the Bobcats to cut the lead to 6 by Halftime. With a slow start to the second half the Bobcats ended up outscoring the Jags 41-35 in the second half to force another OT game at the Mitch.

Elijah Ormiston would add another 15 points in this game helping seal the win in OT. The final was 70-65 and with the win, the Jags tied Arkansas St. for first in the SBC.

The Jags travel to Arkansas State on 2/19 with the tip set for 7pm. This will be a crucial game not only for the outright lead in the SBC but also providing momentum to end the season and begin tournament play.
