Head’s up, Citizens. New traffic detour around the intersection of Dauphin and Broad streets. Traffic signs and other signage alerting motorists that the roads are closed are strategically placed to alleviate the inconvenience this might cause. These things, after all, are all done for the greater good – we’re looking forward to seeing the finished product.

The detour map below shows where the traffic barriers are. Stay informed.

We are to expect a lot of projects and improvements to be done in our community. Some of these include:

Initial implementation of the Street Optimization Plan (including more on-street parking on Dauphin Street and elsewhere).

The revitalization of Bienville Square.

The redevelopment of Cooper Riverside Park to make the waterfront greenspace more accessible and attractive to visitors.

Downtown is as busy as ever these days, let’s brace ourselves for efforts and projects that are guaranteed to further enhance the downtown experience!

Busted in Mobile (Bay)

The Pediatric Emergency Center at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital received a total of $1 million of state investments that will be committed to its renovation and expansion.

This project will double the current emergency department, expanding from 14 treatment rooms to more than 30 areas, including 25 private treatment rooms and will also create two behavioral health rooms and a sensory room for patients with specialized needs. The expansion of the space will also allow for more room for parents and caregivers to be with their children.

Beat that for good vibes!
