IN THIS WEEK’S RUNDOWN – Mobile Cleanup, Poetry Workshop, and Food Truck Tour

Mobile does not stop. From developments to community building, this place is indeed a wonderful place to live and play.

Multiple community cleanup events will pop up this month to coincide with the ALPAL’s “Don’t Drop it on Alabama” Spring Cleanup campaign. These guys would love for us to help make our community a cleaner place to live.

On Earth Day, April 22, the city will be distributing 1,000 litter grabbers along with safety vests and gloves at the recycling center at 4851 Museum Drive and 310 Pinehill Drive. Way to go, Mobile! So what are we waiting for? grab a friend, get supplies, and plan your own cleanup event!

Who doesn’t know our Grammy Award-winning neighbor? Rogest Castarphen Jr., who won a Best Gospel Performance/song Grammy for his work on “Movin’ On” by Jonathan McReynolds and Mali Music earlier this year just got a day dedicated to his name in the City of Mobile to recognize his musical contributions locally and nationally! It doesn’t get any cooler than that. Well deserved, Rogest!

Busted in Mobile (Bay)

This one will surely warm your hearts.

Mobile Fire-Rescue posted on Facebook a photo of a note left by Publix employees in midtown Mobile when they went to pick up the groceries they left.

As their crew on Engine 12 were sorting their groceries for the day, they were called away by an emergency call forcing them to leave their items on the conveyor belt. They hurriedly responded like superheroes and thankfully, the team was called off as the call was cancelled was E12 was in route.

The crew returned to the store to discover their groceries bagged and waiting with a note from store personnel.

A big-hearted stranger who was waiting in line with our firefighters decided to show their generosity by paying for the groceries!
