Anita Presley, known by nearly everyone as Miss Anita, isn’t just a teacher—she’s a fixture at Mobile Christian School.

For over two decades, she’s made the campus feel like home. Her journey started in these very halls, and she never left.

Her husband graduated from the school. So did her three daughters.

Today, she stands at the front of the classroom, shaping the next generation with the same passion and pride.

“I started here and I’m still here,” she said. “This school has it all—family, friends, happiness, Jesus. All of it.”

The Matriarch of Mobile Christian

Ask anyone on campus and they’ll tell you—Miss Anita is the heart of the place.

She’s more than an English and literature teacher. She’s a daily dose of encouragement. A voice of reason. A steady presence through the ups and downs of school life.

When she laughs and calls herself “the matriarch,” it doesn’t sound like a joke.

It sounds like the truth. Her classroom is more than a room—it’s a safe haven filled with stories, discussions, and the occasional life advice.

Books, Bonds, and a Bit of Grisham

On the day she was recognized, her class was deep into a book by John Grisham.

But it’s not just about reading chapters and underlining key points. Miss Anita brings the stories to life.

Her students aren’t memorizing facts—they’re thinking, feeling, and connecting the words on the page to the world around them.

That kind of teaching doesn’t happen by accident. It takes years of dedication and a deep care for the people in those desks.

A Cheerleader in the Classroom

That’s exactly why Quinton Harrison nominated her for the Golden Apple Award. He’s one of many students who’s felt her support in and out of the classroom.

“She’s taught me a lot in the two years I’ve been at Mobile Christian,” Harrison said. “We love her, you know.”

He’s not wrong. Miss Anita is their biggest fan—clapping for their wins, guiding them through the hard stuff, and always showing up with the same steady energy.

A Job Well Done

With 20-plus years behind her and no signs of slowing down, Miss Anita is a reminder that the right teacher can shape an entire school culture.

She’s built something lasting—something that reaches far beyond lesson plans and test scores.

It’s the kind of presence you don’t forget. And the kind that keeps students coming back years later just to say thanks.

Congratulations to Miss Anita and the whole Mobile Christian School community! You’ve built something special
