Summer’s here, and while kids are thinking about pool days and popsicles, The Family Center is thinking about parents.
They’ve rolled out a full slate of free classes to support moms, dads, and caregivers who want to level up this season—financially, emotionally, and at home.
From money management to parenting tips, it’s all about stronger families and smarter decisions.
Banking Basics Without the Boring Bits
The first workshop kicked off with a practical deep dive into better banking.
This isn’t stiff financial talk. It’s real-world stuff: how to save more, avoid unnecessary fees, and start climbing out of credit ruts.
And if May 31 isn’t circled yet, mark it now. That’s when The Family Center will host a financial literacy class focused on taking control of your finances. It’s built for anyone who wants to stop feeling behind and start getting ahead.
Parenting Support for Every Stage
Got a toddler who won’t sit still? A teen who won’t talk? There’s a Zoom class for that.
The parenting sessions cover all ages—from early childhood behavior tips to navigating pre-teen drama. There’s even a support group just for moms who need a space to talk, laugh, and share with others who get it.
Every class is full of real-world tools and simple strategies that don’t require a shelf full of parenting books.
A Little Help Goes a Long Way
Brian Hewes, a case manager with The Family Center, put it plainly: no one’s got this all figured out.
“These workshops are about giving parents what they need most—support,” he said. “Sometimes that’s about raising kids. Sometimes it’s about making ends meet. We want them to walk away feeling equipped and encouraged.”
Strong families don’t come from perfection. They come from effort, community, and the right tools.
Zero Cost, All Value
Every class is free.
No fine print. No catch. Just practical help from people who genuinely want to see families thrive.
There’s something powerful about logging into a Zoom or walking into a class full of people who are there for the same reason: to get better and support each other along the way.
Building Something Bigger
It might start with a class. But it leads to more: better mornings, less stress, stronger connections.
And when parents feel supported, it shows up everywhere. At school drop-off. Around the dinner table. All across the neighborhood.
The Family Center is making that kind of impact—one session at a time.
