The Mobile County Commission just made a big decision that’ll shape the future of Bayou La Batre.

They awarded the construction contract for the City Docks redevelopment to Ben M. Radcliff Contractor, Inc.

This $24.4 million project is the real deal—finally moving from plans to action after years of groundwork.

For locals, this means we’re one step closer to seeing a transformed waterfront. Think better spots to buy seafood straight off the boats, new places to gather for markets or festivals, and a smoother launch for your boats.

It’s all about making the Bayou work better for the people who live here and the visitors who love our slice of the coast.

Construction kicks off soon, with the whole project slated to wrap up in about two years. Keep an eye on the docks—big changes are coming.
