Wild Things Ball
October 19 @ 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm
The Alabama Contemporary Art Center (ACAC) is departing from 301 Conti Street with the biggest art party of the year. As the building undergoes construction, the ACAC is taking its events on the road in 2025.
Ongoing memberships are the most effective way for individuals and businesses to support the ACAC’s mission. However, instead of hosting a typical membership drive, the ACAC is throwing the Wild Things Ball, a biennial celebration filled with food, specialty cocktails by Cathead Distillery, costumes, music, and art. This pre-Halloween event is all about embracing creativity and having fun.
The evening will be hosted by proto-feminist icon, animal rights activist, and performance artist Sir William Masters, along with a special co-host revealed only to attendees. Throughout the night, short-fire dance and costume competitions will be judged by celebrity guests, including Courtney Matthews, Chocolat, and MMofA Director Jon Carfagno. Performances will be given by Kalypso Elegantz & Chaii Summers, Pixie Van Dyke, Braxton Hicks, Peaches a la Mode, Kitty Valentina, Keke Zorra, Mena Gerie, and Gingee Grenade, with DJ sets by VJ Tay, Kandon Kyser, and DJ Bob.
The event is for guests 21 and older. Tickets are $25, and attendees must have a valid ACAC membership through October 19 to purchase. Tickets will increase to $75 at the door, excluding membership. Pre-purchase is encouraged.
