Mobile Ballet will present Sleeping Beauty March 23-24 at the Mobile Civic Center Theater, with performances on Saturday, March 23, at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, March 24, at 2:00 pm. The Saturday 7:00pm performance will feature the Mobile Ballet Orchestra playing the iconic score live, led by conductor David Ott.
Tchaikovsky’s glorious score and a cast of fantastical characters will captivate audiences, in this new adaptation by Katia Garza after the original by Marius Petipa. In this full-length ballet, the malevolent fairy Carabosse curses Princess Aurora to 100 years of slumber by a single prick of her finger on her 16th birthday. Doomed by fate, only a prince’s loving kiss can break the evil spell and awaken the sleeping beauty. Mobile Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty will transport you on a mystical journey in this timeless story where good versus evil and the power of love overcomes all obstacles.
