Remember Arthur Ashe 4 the Kids Day is a free family-friendly event that will take place at Lyons Park Tennis Center on August 27th. All ages welcome!
Enjoy Tennis Clinics for the Kids, Bounce Houses, a Live DJ, Games, Arthur Ashe Trivia, Hit It To Win It Prize Giveaways, Arthur Ashe Art & Essay Award Ceremonies, and MORE!
Want to get the Kids involved in our Art and Essay Contests?
Deadline to enter is Friday, August 19th at 5pm. Please include your name, age, title of work, and a contact number with all submissions.
Art Contest Info:
Any student can enter the Arthur Ashe Drawing Competition.
Art should be draw on a 9.5x11inch or larger paper. Draw a portrait of Ashe in action or still. Your choice!
All work will be displayed during the Arthur Ashe Kids Day Event.
There will be a first and second winner who will be announced at the event.
Essay Writing Contest Info:
For Ages 11-14
Write one page or less on the topic “Why Arthur Ashe is an American Hero”.
There will be a first and second place winner who will be announced at the event!
For Ages 15-18
Write one page or less on the topic and quote by Arthur Ashe “From what we get, we make a living. What we give, however, makes a life’.
There will be a first and second place winner who will be announced at the event!
Ways to submit:
Drop off art or essays to the Mobile Parks and Recreation Main Office (48 N Sage Ave) during regular business hours. Or drop off to the Lyons Tennis Center (180 Lyons Park Ave.).
