MOONPIE OVER MOBILE NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION

December 31, 2024 @ 12:00 pm January 1, 2025 @ 12:30 am

Mobile will ring in the new year with the iconic electronic MoonPie drop and a live music performance. Now in its 17th year, this free event has become a beloved tradition, attracting more than 50,000 revelers to the streets for a festive celebration showcasing the vibrant spirit of Mobile.

The day’s festivities include a Kids Zone at Mardi Gras Park, offering family-friendly activities and a special MoonPie Drop just for children. In the evening, highlights include a best-decorated umbrella contest, the unveiling of the world’s largest edible MoonPie, crafted by Chattanooga Bakery, and a lively second-line parade led by the Port City Secondliners and the Jukebox Brass Band, leading attendees to the main stage for the live music lineup.

As midnight approaches, the celebration crescendos with the countdown to 2025. The ceremonial drop of the world’s largest electronic MoonPie, a 12-foot-tall spectacle descending from the 34-story RSA Trustmark skyscraper, will mark the arrival of the new year and usher in Mobile’s Mardi Gras season.
