Iron Pour

The University of Southern Mississippi’s Art and Design Program will host an Iron Pour event, offering a unique opportunity to create and connect with art. Participants can preregister to create their own scratch block.
Jennifer Torres, sculpture professor and area head in the School of Performing and Visual Arts, will showcase the program and demonstrate iron pouring techniques. The event begins with a free demonstration at 10 a.m., followed by a scratch block workshop, with the furnace running all day.
The scratch block workshop costs $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Tools will be available on-site, and all ages are welcome, though children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
