Africatown Bridge Challenge 5K and 1 Mile

Location:

Packet pick-up and race day registration will take place at the former Farmers Market located 645 Shelby Street, Mobile, AL 36610 (close to intersection of Shelby Street and Tin Top Lane).

Distance:

The out and back 5K course will take participants from Tin Top Lane, over the Africatown Bridge and back. The 1 Mile course will take participants from Tin Top Lane and to the foot of the Africatown Bridge and back to Tin Top Lane.

Registration:

Register by mail (entries should be postmarked by June 1, 2024), in person at McCoy Outdoor, Run-N-Tri, or Fleet Feet in Mobile until noon on June 6, or online until 4 AM, June 7 . Race day registration and packet pick-up will be available from 6:00 – 7:25 AM at the former Farmers Market on Shelby St.

Entry fees:

Race fees include a race shirt and post-race celebration.

Awards:

5K: Top male and female, and top three male and female in age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+

Fun Run: Finishers’ ribbons

Shirts:

To guarantee a shirt on race day, your application must be received by June 1.

Post-Race Party:

Awards, music, and food at the celebration at the Farmers Market.

Weather Disclaimer:

The Africatown Bridge Challenge will take place rain or shine. In the event of severe or dangerous weather conditions, the Africatown Community Development Corporation reserves the right to postpone the start of or to cancel the Africatown Bridge Challenge 5K and 1 Mile.
