Door To Serenity – Helping Everyone To The Path Of Sobreity

The first Sober Living Home has opened to the public because of the generosity of its sponsors and volunteers.

It is the place where you may get some relaxation and recovery as well as some much-needed hope.

Door To Serenity

Usually, a lengthy rebuilding period is standard when recovering from a drug use disorder.

The mission of Door To Serenity is to provide a caring family and community to help anyone with a drug use disease develop and recover.

The idea for Door to Serenity started with a deep sense of loss.

After losing her only sibling to an overdose, Lisa Teggart, the organization’s Founder and Executive Director, was inspired to help others.

It wasn’t until December 21, 2010, that Lisa began her sober journey in the AA rooms, but she understood that too many people were dying from this horrible disease.

She had to raise $2400 from 23 other people to start her project.

Her friend gave her $100 and urged her to find 23 more friends to provide her with $100 and execute the project.

It did not take long before the concept of secure space for individuals to start rebuilding their lives took shape, and the Door to Serenity opened.

The Door to Serenity program was developed within the framework of the Twelve Steps to meet the needs of anybody seeking assistance on the road to recovery, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

For the underprivileged, Door To Serenity is a welcoming place to begin the path of sobriety.

They rely on the community’s kindness to expand and support individuals in need as a small, local non-profit.

A partnership with Goodwill Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast’s Good Samaritan Donation Program provides extra services for their client visitors.

Your gifts to Goodwill will assist both the community and the clients by giving payment vouchers that they may use to buy at Goodwill through your generosity.
