Sea turtle nesting season has kicked off on the Gulf Coast, with baby loggerheads hatching mostly at night. 

Two nests have already been spotted in Dauphin Island and Bon Secour.

Mayor Sandy Stimpson and other city leaders will host the event, inviting locals to enjoy a festive lunch in the park from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Frederick Rendfrey steps up as interim president of the Downtown Mobile Alliance, taking over from Elizabeth P. Stevens who has led since 2005. 

Rendfrey, with 17 years at Alliance, will guide the transition as Stevens assists as CEO emeritus through the year.
