September 12-14: 9th Annual L.A. Songwriter’s Festival
Fairhope, American Legion Post 199: Over 36 local musicians will play in an intimate hall setting including a jam session at the end of each night. Event open to the public.
September 12: Music in the Museum:
Mobile, Museum of Art: Check out archaeological photography by Fernando La Rosa. The real reason to go is because it’s FREE on Thursdays. It’s Perfect for a Cheap Date Night.
September 13-15: South Alabama Film Festival:
Downtown Mobile, Various Sites: We love this event every year (now in its 5th) that showcases Southern films and highlights our region.
September 13: 10th Annual Film Scramble:
Downtown Mobile: Sign up for the the Film Scramble is happening. This is a great opportunity for local film makers from the novice to the seasoned pro.
September 13: LODA Artwalk:
Downtown Mobile: If you haven’t been to Artwalk, it’s definitely worth the trip downtown. All art venues are open and our beautiful citizens are roaming the streets. 6-9pm.
September 14: Archaeological Identification Clinic:
Mobile, Archaeology Museum: Bring that weird thing that you dug up from your yard last year and find out what it is. No, they’re not going to be able to give you a value, sorry.
September 14: St. Practice Day:
Downtown Mobile, O’Dailey’s Irish Pub: We’re half way there. Whhhoooaaahhh Livin’ on a $1 Green Beer. Wear your green and come out for the fun.
September 14: 6th Annual Go Run 5k and 1mi Fun Run:
Mobile, USA Campus, Moulton Tower: Benefiting GYN Cancer Research. If 1,000 runners registered by now, there will be heads shaved and/or dyed teal by oncologists in honor.
September 15: 2nd Annual Blues and Grooves Festival:
Downtown Mobile, Malaga Inn: Family Friendly event with a host of local musicians and tons of fun. Raffle 50/50 pot split and tons of kids shaking some booties.
September 15: Tunnel to Towers 5k Run and Walk:
Downtown Mobile, Battleship Parkway: In honor of Stephen Siller, FDNY, who laid down his life on 09/11 in order to selflessly help save others. Come be a part of the legacy.
