2/19: Winter Formal:
Coastal Bank and Trust, 3704 Dauphin Street: Come out for a wine tasting (2 reds, 2 whites, and a sparkling) presented by the St. Mary’s Home Young Leaders’ Society. The food is donated by Blind Mule, Wintzell’s Oyster House, and Pollman’s Bakery. Beer will be on hand for non-wine drinkers. Also, don’t miss the surprise celebrity servers!

2/19: Mental Health First Aid Training:

Housing First, 73 Azalea Road:  Mental Health First Aid is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning sign of mental illnesses, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common supports. The training starts at 8:00am and goes until 4:30pm.

2/20: Recycle, Redefine Your Jewelry Workshop:
Studio 4, Fairhope: Bring your jewelry box full of bling, baubles and treasures and learn to create your own fabulous wearable art. Additional beads, chains, baubles to incorporate into your work will be provided. You will take home unique, one of a kind jewelry!

2/20: Government Street Forum:
Government St Presbyterian Church: The Government Street Forum is lunch and a speaker on Thursdays.  Lunch costs $7 and is served at noon; the forum begins at 12:30 p.m. No charge to attend the forum. This Thursday’s speaker is Scott Posey, Director of Communications, Thyssenkrupp Steel USA.

 2/22: Spring Vegetable Gardening:
Mobile Botanical Garden: Beans, squash, peppers and tomatoes! It’s time to start preparing your beds and starting your seeds; Spring on the Gulf Coast begins in March! Come to this class to learn what, when and how to plant for minimum work and maximum yield in your garden.

2/23: Mystic Mutts of Revelry 2014:
Corner of St. James and S. Summit, Fairhope: With a theme of “Going for the Gold, Fairhope 2014 Paw-lympics”, The Haven’s 11th Annual walking Mardi Gras parade for mutts & owners. Starts at 2:30pm.  Over 500 dogs + human companions will wind thru the streets of downtown Fairhope with all proceeds benefiting The Haven, a no-kill animal shelter and a non-profit 501C(3) organization.

2/23: Orange Beach Seafood Festival:
Orange Beach Sportsplex: 22nd Annual OB Seafood Festival is a full day of delicious food, 50+ arts & crafts vendors & music for the whole family. Also includes a silent auction, car show featuring antique, classic & hot rod vehicles, a Kids Zone with climbing wall, & inflatables. All proceeds are used to purchase uniforms, equipment, insurance, and pay for expenses for our community’s youth baseball, softball and T-Ball.

2/23: Mobile 2014 Great Amazing Race:
Langan Municipal Park: An annual family-friendly obstacle/adventure race for teams of two (kids grades K-12 & adults), modeled after the show The Amazing Race. Pairs compete on a 1 mile course of challenges requiring teamwork. Whether you run, jog or walk, it’ll be a Bonding Experience you will never forget. Qualify for National Champ Race & $2,000 Prize!

2/26: Birds of Paradise Mardi Gras Ball:
Lulu’s, Gulf Shores:  Will you be in Gulf Shores before Mardi Gras? If so, enjoy a delicious buffet and open bar plus live music by The Tip Tops at one of Gulf Shore’s famous establishments. Don’t forget, the attire is “island elegance.”

Upcoming event: Go Kickball Spring Season!

Sage Park in Mobile and Al Trione Park in Daphne: Registration ends on March 10th and the season starts on March 20th. This 8-week season will be filled with fastballs and base stealin’ all the while having the premier social experience with a 1,000 of your closest friends!

Upcoming event: Bud and Brews:
Providence Hospital, Mobile: The 2nd Annual Buds & Brews event is held in conjunction with the Festival of Flowers to benefit the Providence Hospital Foundation. Lee Yankie and the Hellz Yeah Trio will be the musical entertainment for the night and you’ll be able to sample great beer from local breweries!
