October 1: Auditions for Beauty and The Beast:
Azalea City Center for the Arts: Performances start in December. The phrase ‘tale as old as time’ may indeed be an exaggeration, but this version of the classic story, Beauty and The Beast fits the bill just right.

October 3: Pumpkin Patch:
Dauphin Way United Methodist Church: 2013 pumpkin delivery day is October 2 and the Patch will open on Wednesday! All proceeds of pumpkin sales benefit the Navajo Indians in New Mexico!

October 3: YLS Fall Wine Down 2013:
Mobile Carnival Museum: Join YLS for a wine tasting competition benefiting our local Imagination Library. Each team brings four bottles of the same Pinot Noir; three for blind tasting, one for the grand prize cache of wine!

October 3, 4, & 5, 2013: 10th Annual John L. Borom Alabama Coastal Birdfest:
Faulkner State College in downtown Fairhope: Family-friendly & free event with exhibits about things to see & do in our great outdoors! Build a birdhouse, watch live raptor shows, touch tanks, experience a snakes shows – it is sure to be a great time!

October 4-6: BayFest:
Downtown Mobile: BayFest will celebrate its 19th anniversary with an expected crowd of 200,000+! Make merry in the streets of Downtown Mobile and see over 125 live musical acts on nine stages during the weekend!

October 5 & 6 2013: 31st Annual Grand Festival of Art
Downtown Fairhope: This show features more than 70 local, regional, national and international artists with more than 20,000 visitors expected. Look out for woodworking, blown glass, painting, ceramics, sculpture, photography & much more!

October 5, 2013: 6th Annual Mullet Run:
Bancroft Street: With a 5k and one-mile fun run this event is sure to be a good time! All proceeds go towards The BayART Project to promote public art created by youth in our community! 

October 5: Paddle Bayou La Batre:
Bayou La Batre: This 6 mile trek will give you an up-close and personal experience of being on a true working bayou, lined with shipyards, shrimpboats, oyster skiffs, and scenic natural vistas!
