Oakleigh Historic Complex: Tour the Oakleigh Historic Complex dressed for the holiday season, view the antique toy collection, enjoy a cup of hot spiced tea while children attend story time and make reindeer food.
12/26: Holiday Skating at The Wharf:
The Wharf, Orange Beach: What better way to spend your time at the beach during Christmas than ice-skating. Enjoy this unique experience at The Wharf in Orange Beach. You can enjoy dinner, shopping, games, and other family fun activities!
12/27: Moe’s BBQ present Brett LaGrave Band:
Moe’s BBQ, Mobile: Need music for the soul? Come out and listen to Brett LaGrave, a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Mobile! LaGrave’s melodic blues riffs and intricate runs is a perfect compliment to lead guitarist, John Cochran’s jazz and soul feels!
12/28: Make It To The Line 4-Mile Run/Walk & 1-Mile Fun Run:
Flora-Bama: After all the Christmas festivities are over, help take some of those extra pounds off with a run, jog, walk or crawl to the line at a 4-mile run/walk and 1-mile fun run! A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Innerarity Point and Orange Beach Fire Departments.
12/31: Noon Year’s Eve at Lulu’s:
LuLu’s, Gulf Shores: LuLu’s Annual Noon Year’s Eve party involves delicious food, sandcastle building contest, arts & crafts, live music, zoo animals, & face painting! To count it down to noon we celebrate with kid friendly fireworks and a huge beach ball drop. Family Friendly & Free!
12/31: The Fuse Project’s New Year’s Eve Party:
Space 301, Downtown Mobile: Party with a purpose to close out 2013. At last year’s inaugural New Year’s bash, The FUSE Project raised more than $11,000 to benefit youth in the community. So grab your friends and start 2014 on the right foot. Tickets include food and drink, a top shelf open bar, music and a midnight champagne toast!
12/31: Moonpie Drop:
Downtown Mobile: Free family festivities earlier in the evening concluding with Gretchen Wilson singing some tunes (Redneck Woman maybe?) to finish off the evening as a giant moonpie drops down during a laser light show.
1/1/14: Annual Slip & Slide Polar Bear Dip:
The Hangout, Gulf Shores: Start the new year off with a 33 ft. two lane slip & slide into the Gulf! All participants will be treated to a free buffet and all will enjoy live music by Grayson Capps. There will be prizes for the best costumes and the best teams.
Upcoming event: 1/5/14: GoDaddy.com Bowl:
Ladd Peebles Stadium, Mobile: The GoDaddy Bowl will host a southern-style shrimp boil to welcome the coaches and players of each Bowl team, administration, both conference commissioners and their support staff, local & national media representatives, local and national corporate sponsors, Mobile city officials, and invited guests.
